Nana's Pacas Alpaca Ranch is owned and operated by Ellen and Tom Floyd, and yes we are Nana and Papa. Nana loves alpacas and Papa loves hot rods.
Our ranch is located in Flower Mound, Texas. There is a mound (since there are few hills in this part of Texas) that has been preserved as original prairie. In the spring this mound is covered with a variety of wild flowers.
We first met alpacas in the summer of 2004 and immediately fell in love with them. We have been researching the alpaca life style ever since. We purchased our first alpaca in August and four more in December. The arrival of our first cria was almost as exciting as the arrival of each of our grandchildren.
We have spent time visiting
many alpaca farms and ranches around the country. We learn something new at
every stop. Our mentoring ranch let us come and work whenever we could. They
shared tons of information and experience. We plan to be that kind of alpaca
ranch for our future customers.
We fenced our property ourselves, with help from nice neighbors, friends and
family. We would be happy to consult with you on your alpaca arrangements.
We plan to focus on the processing and use of the fiber that our animals
produce. We feel that the fiber is the future of this business and that we
cannot afford to waste this valuable resource. We have a herd of many colors
and we have sent all of our fiber to mills for processing into fine yarn for
the hand crafters. Our alpaca’s bloodlines include Peruvian Seeds of Gold,
4Peruvian Legacy, Dom Lucillio, Hemmingway and Yupanqui.
These animals are so sweet and gentle; we would love for everyone to get to
